A CASE OF DIGITIZING THE DEFORMATION ZONE IN UNIVERSAL MILL

S. Spuzic
Abstract. It is widely recognised that digitizing industrial records is a precondition for implementing the system optimisation based on the industry 4.0 (I4) methods such as big data analyt-ics, digital twins, and machine learning (ML). While many variables in the processes such as forming of solids are already recorded in a suitable digital format, i.e. temperature, velocity, forces etc, are readily measured online, the information about the morphometry of the deformation zone needs to be translated into a digital format that is more suitable for embracing the broad variety of geometries. In this manuscript, one approach to resolving this task for the deformation zone observed in rolling the universal sections is presented.

Abstract. The aim is to increase the stability of the MMK's mill 370 performance, and improve the material yield. There are two approaches to the slitting: by dividing a thick neck in the grooves of the working stand of the mill; by dividing a thin neck in the exit slitting guide after the stand. Technical and technological solutions have been developed to ensure stable rolling and an increase of the yield. Trial rolling was carried out using wear-resistant dividing rollers and the correct groove of the stand 14. The measurements showed that the rolled material obtained after the 15th stand has the correct dimensions and sufficient symmetry.

Abstract. The article presents the results of calculations of the basic geometric parameters of cutting a ball-rolling roll on a screw-gauge lathe equipped with a copier with a continuously changing step. Calibration calculation is performed for a ball-rolling roll with two-start screw calibres with an offset center of the grooves for rolling grinding balls with a diameter of 70 mm.

METHODS TESTING OF GRINDING BALLS FOR IMPACT RESISTANCE

I.J. Lanovenko, V.Yu. Rubtsov, K.N. Shvedov, I.K. Galimyanov
Abstract. Three methods of testing grinding balls for impact resistance are presented: testing a grinding ball with a load falling on it, testing 2 grinding balls colliding with each other, using an impact hammer installation, testing with multiple falling of a grinding ball on stationary balls. The qualitative characteristics of the total energy during the testing of each ball are determined. The analysis showed that each of the described methods will be acceptable for certain purposes. The most productive of the presented methods is test on hammer with collision between two balls, where the maximum impact energy can be obtained in the minimum test time. The test meth-od with free fall of ball is the closest to real process of grinding ball, however, time of such test method can be more than day.
