Abstract. Three methods of testing grinding balls for impact resistance are presented: testing a grinding ball with a load falling on it, testing 2 grinding balls colliding with each other, using an impact hammer installation, testing with multiple falling of a grinding ball on stationary balls. The qualitative characteristics of the total energy during the testing of each ball are determined. The analysis showed that each of the described methods will be acceptable for certain purposes. The most productive of the presented methods is test on hammer with collision between two balls, where the maximum impact energy can be obtained in the minimum test time. The test meth-od with free fall of ball is the closest to real process of grinding ball, however, time of such test method can be more than day.
